Components and flags of Alliance for Changes (Savez za promene)

Alliance for Changes was the political alliance of the following democratic opposition parties in Serbia (summer-autumn 1999):

The flag of the alliance is white, in proportions 2:3, with the logotype of the party.

The flag of the Civic Alliance of Serbia is orange, in proportions 2:3, with the party logotype in a blue diamond, the letters ГСС (GSS) on the right of the logotype and the full name of party below the logotype.

The flag was adopted in 1997, I do not know exact date, but it was between February, when great protests against the Milošević regime were over, and May, when I first saw this version of the logo on the posters. Before this flag was adopted, the Civic Alliance of Serbia had used a different flag: the logotype had a more natural-looking stylization, the hand was light orange and the bell was in gray, white and black colours, all on a dark orange diamond on the white field; the party name was beneath the logotype, in black colour and a different typeface.

The new flag of the Civic Alliance of Serbia has first appeared in the campaign for the elections for the People's Assembly of Serbia, which took place in December 2003. Since then, it was seen in the campaign for local and provincial elections, which took place in September 2004, and also at some manifestations organized by the party. It has the same charges as the previous flag, but the logtypeo is in the hoist and the party name is inscribed in three lines in the fly. The letters are larger than in the previous flag and the aspect ratio is changed from 2:3 to 1:2.

On 7 April 2007, the Civic Alliance of Serbia merged into the Liberal Democratic Party (Liberalno-demokratska partija) and its flag went out of use.

The flag of New Serbia is light blue, in proportions 2:3, with the logotype and the name of the party.
The present-day flag of the party has the same basic design as the previous one, but both the logotype and the party name have oblique forms, the inscription is in dark blue instead of white and the waving flag, which makes a part of the logtypeo, has a simpler form. This flag was adopted by the end of 2002, as it seems to be the only party flag in use since then.

Social Democracy (Socijaldemokratija)

[Social Democracy]

The flag of Social Democracy is very dark blue (on TV it looks even black), in proportions 1:2, with the party name near the hoist, and a white stylized rose.

Another flag of the Socialdemocracy has the same charges, with different sizes and positions, on the field in the same colour. Arranged in this way, the charges were used as the party logotype since the party's founding in 1997, but seem to have appeared on the flag later. According to the magazine Kvadart (Belgrade), 18, p. 94, February 2003, the logotype was created by Radomir Vuković, a designer from Belgrade. The first appearance of this flag which I have recorded was at the TV reports from the rally in Belgrade, before the Federal Assembly building, on 5 October 2001, commemorating the anniversary of the 2000 revolution. Some photos which could be seen on the party website were clearly taken on 5 October 2000, so the flag must have been already in use at that time. During the following years, it has replaced the earlier version of the party flag and nowadays it seems to be the only one in use.
